Blurpink - Born Pretty Color Change Polish #104

Here's another thermal colour change polish I picked up from Born Pretty a few months ago! These are pretty terrible photos though because my hands are always cold in winter...

[Bottle to nail: Born Pretty Color Change Polish #104 (2 coats)]
This is Born Pretty Color Change Polish #104 which is a blurple to pink temperature shifter, where blurple is cold and pink is warm.

[2 coats: Born Pretty Color Change Polish #104]
Evidently I did this mani in the dead of winter and my hands were freezing... I warmed up two fingers to show you how it looks when shifted pink.

[2 coats: Born Pretty Color Change Polish #104]
And here's some funky gradient effects from my nails cooling back down. On my thumb, you can see where I've heated just the tip. Overally, I'm pretty happy with this polish. Love the 'cool' colour and application was perfect in two coats. The finish is semi-matte, but I just popped some topcoat on over for a full gloss look!

Sweet Sprinkles - No. 8405

It's been pretty busy around here so let me keep this sweet and short. This was a surprise find for me! I picked up this nail polish when I was in Malaysia earlier this year, at a random market stall that sold a few different nail polishes from China. I quite like it!

[No. 8405]
As I was about to post this, I realized that a picture of the bottle was necessary because this seems like a brandless, nameless nail polish.

[No. 8405 in bottle]
Meet No. 8405. Sounds like a prison number. The bottle cap looks like it could be an old lipstick.

[No. 8405]
No. 8405 is a pinkish-champagne-ish foil, with blue and pink hex glitter and small white hex glitter. It's almost completely opaque in three coats, with the faintest visible nail line. It doesn't have a strong smell and the consistency is pretty good. A great payload of glitter too!

So that's it. Random purchase No. 8405 was a success!

Classic Corvette - China Glaze Red Satin

Another quick one today!

[Bottle to nail: China Glaze Red Satin (2 coats)]
Sometimes you just gotta go for a basic red manicure. This one's China Glaze Red Satin, a nice red creme.

[2 coats: China Glaze Red Satin]
It's pretty rare for a company to mess up a red creme and this is no exception. Good formula with lots of pigment. You could probably get away with one careful coat but I used two here.

[2 coats: China Glaze Red Satin]
Add some topcoat for gloss and you have yourself a classic!

Perfect Potion - Ulta3 Spring Break

As I've mentioned, I've been super busy so here's a super short, simple post!

[Bottle to nail: Ulta3 Spring Break (2 coats)]
This one's Ulta3 Spring Break, a pretty much perfect purple creme.

[2 coats: Ulta3 Spring Break]
I picked it up when I went on a creme polish collection kick a few months ago. Good formula opaque in two coats, easy to deal with.

[2 coats: Ulta3 Spring Break]
I'm not sure why it looks a bit patchy in my photos but rest assured it looked fine in person! Geez, just looking at this pics makes me itch to stamp over it!

Armour Plated - Lacquistry Amazeballs: Original, Revlon Watermelon Fizz

I'm continuing my Iron Man themed mani!

[Base: Lacquistry Amazeballs: Original
Tips: Revlon Watermelon Fizz]
I have Lacquistry Amazeballs: Original as the base, always a winner in terms of amazing shininess, and I went over the tips with Revlon Watermelon Fizz, a red jelly that tints Amazeballs: Original into a brilliant red foil. So far, I'm thinking these two shades make a great combination!

Pencil It In - Rimmel Happily Evie After, Born Pretty BPL-022

I've got a silly little stamping manicure for you today!

[I don't even know...]
I don't even know why I chose this design?? But that's what we ended up with, black pencils on coral, lol! I think I was inspired by traditional 2B pencils in black and red stripes...

[Bottle to nail: Rimmel Happily Evie After (2 coats)]
My base shade is Rimmel Salon Pro in Happily Evie After. Great polish, good formula opaque in two coats... but I swear it was more of a reddish coral when I bought it but somehow indoors and on the nail it seems like... orange?? I'm pretty confused!

[2 coats: Rimmel Happily Evie After]
So I popped on two coats and finished off with topcoat. Orange cremes always make me think of orange M&Ms..

[Base: Rimmel Happily Evie After (2 coats); Stamping: Born Pretty black stamping polish, BPL-022]
I then used Born Pretty plate BPL-022 to stamp a pencil pattern on in black and finished off with another coat of topcoat.

[Base: Rimmel Happily Evie After (2 coats); Stamping: Born Pretty black stamping polish, BPL-022]
Hmmm... I think I used Born Pretty black stamping polish for this. While it tends to be less opaque then Konad stamping polish, it is pretty good at picking up fine patterns as you can see.

[Base: Rimmel Happily Evie After (2 coats); Stamping: Born Pretty black stamping polish, BPL-022]
...and there you have it! Black pencils on... orange??! Yeahhhh~

These few weeks and the coming ones are gonna be pretty busy for me so there may be a drop in stamping posts, unfortunately! I think I'm getting the hang of it though!

Hot Rod Red and Gold - Lacquistry Amazeballs: Original, Revlon Watermelon Fizz

Red hot metal on my nails~

It's not on my nails now, but it was on my nails when Age of Ultron was out! The red and gold theme was for the Iron Man colours, my favourite character in the movie. :)

[Base: Lacquistry Amazeballs: Original
Top: Revlon Watermelon Fizz]
To get maximum flashy redness, I used Lacquistry's Amazeballs: Original, which is a dense gold flakes glitter and utterly, amazingly shiny and gorgeous. Here's my original swatch of it.

I taped off strips at the tips and went over Amazeballs: Original with a coat of Revlon Watermelon Fizz. Watermelon Fizz is a pretty red jelly, one of my faves. The result of red jelly polish over Amazeballs: Original is this ultra shiny, ultra metallic red foil. With the strips of gold still available, it's the perfect flashy Iron Man look and I loved it. I had this on for so long!

Fawn Damask - Rimmel Salon Pro Oh, Mr Darcy, Konad White, Born Pretty BPL-007

Here's a manicure that I was really happy with!

[Nude lace]
I wanted something a little delicate, a little bit fancy, so this is what I came up with!

[Bottle to nail: Rimmel Salon Pro Oh, Mr Darcy (2 coats)]
I started with two coats of Rimmel Salon Pro in Oh, Mr Darcy. Gotta love that name...! This was a great buy from a bargain bin. Nice glossy formula, although as you may have noticed, I've decided to mattify the finish...

[Base: Rimmel Salon Pro Oh, Mr Darcy (2 coats); Topcoat: Born Pretty Super Matte Surface Oil]
...using Born Pretty Super Matte Surface Oil (??), which is a pretty good matte topcoat that I recently tried out.  I've left my middle and index finger glossy here just to show the difference in finish.

[Base: Rimmel Salon Pro Oh, Mr Darcy (2 coats); Topcoat: Born Pretty Super Matte Surface Oil]
I've left my middle and index finger glossy here just to show the difference in finish. I love a good matte polish! Especially with creme polishes!

[Base: Rimmel Salon Pro Oh, Mr Darcy (2 coats); Stamping: Konad White; BPL-007]
Hmm, unfortunately it seems I didn't take a photo with the stamping plate I used, but this was Born Pretty stamping plate BPL-007, which is full of lovely intricate patterns. The polish was Konad stamping polish in white. This is another example of how proper stamping polish actually makes a difference. I initially tried this in a chrome polish, but it couldn't pick out all the tiny details. Although that could possible be my lack of skill... I think I also need a bit more work on stamp placement eyyy....

[Base: Rimmel Salon Pro Oh, Mr Darcy (2 coats); Stamping: Konad White; BPL-007]
Anyway! After all that stamping, I put another layer of matte topcoat over the top and that was it!
